How Not to Win Friends & Influence People - Zac !

I received a quite amazing phone call yesterday morning from a bloke calling himself Zac and purporting to represent the company - amazingwebmall.com - from whom I had purchased a web site recently.

Now I have been very active in this arena over the past two weeks as I continue my search for income making opportunites and other personal development matters so I asked him to explain which site he was refering to.  Zac, being the over worked individual that he is, immediately took a defensive stance and demanded to know how many web sites I had signed up to in the past few days?

Now apart from that being no business of his, and apart from the fact that he is a paid employee with a mission to win sales not ostracise clients with arguement and vitriol, Zac then entered into a heated argument with me over his more important reason for breathing than mine. I hung up on him. I did not solicit the call nor do I ordinarily accept calls from unlisted numbers - this being an exception for reasons I cannot explain.

This pleb had engaged me in an unsavoury argument within 15 seconds of my answering the call. He called me back and began to berate me about my bad form for hanging up on him and so on. I told him I did not wish to speak to him that I was busy and for him to call back later. He then sneeringly informed me that he has thousand's of other people to call and that he needed to confirm a convenient time as he was my Case Manager. Well at least he thought he was.

I did not take to the suggestion that I was only 1 of thousand's that he had to deal with and rang off.

Can you see from my description of the above conversation why I will have nothing to do with Zac or amazingwebmall.com ever again?

He called again this morning and I quickly, politely, informed him that I did not wish to deal with him, at which he told me "I don't want to deal with the likes of you either, so I am deactivating your account". I asked to speak to his supervisor and he demanded to know why, when I told him that I didn't like his attitude he launched into another attack on his "customer". I again asked to speak with his supervisor and he refused, instead hanging up on me.

Isn't that wonderful. Zac, I am working on speaking to your supervisor anyway so it might pay to start looking in the job's vacant columns of the local newspaper, I'm sure someone will read them to you.

So, amazingwebmall.com, thank you for allowing me to see the calibre of your staff and to deactivate my account before something really upsetting got in the way of Zac's day. I  will not return to your portal with my money again so that is another unexpected bonus from my time talking with Zac. He also demonstrated the worst sales management technique I can imagine and to be free of any involvement with that I also thank you amazingwebmall.com.

I invite you to post some idea's about your sales techniques. Hopefully they are diametrically oppossed to our overworked, ungrateful hero of this tale, Zac.

I doesn't take much to Think long and Proser, but it is a task beyong my former Case Manager I fear.

My Way 2 Success

My Way? Education, focus, commitment, a goal and desire. And your ability to override all doomsayers that stand in your way.

As the old Chines proverb goes "The person who says that a thing cannot be done should not be interrupting the person doing it".

Be prepared to give up who you are for who you can become!

Change your focus from the also ran, the mundane to the great, the exceptional and witness what happens.

Cert IV Trainer and Assessor Courses

In my previous blog I talked about self improvement and challenging yourself to not only increase you income but to acheive a more fulfilling life in general.

One of the easiest way's you could manage this is to train, and qualify, as a Workplace Trainer and Assessor, whereby you pass on your skills and knowledge to younger or less experienced staff in your workplace. I have found it to be a rewarding career change that has little if any downside. In particular I can cite my increased awareness of First Aid issues that benefit everybody in society. It is comforting to know that in any situation requiring First Aid I will be able to act instinctively, without the fear of not knowing what to do, or questioning if what I am doing is correct. In training this discipline I have been so regularly exposed to the lessons that I can recite the required response and treatment with ease. This will stand me in good stead when I need to call on the knowledge for real.

In a Security setting I have maintained close and frequent contact with a diverse range of Industry employers and workers that you might ordinarily not expect to be dealing with. As a result, I can confidently impart the latest developments to my students safe in knowledge that they will benefit from my current awareness. I am far more aware of the local Security scene and it's issues and concerns than most would be just working away at their own job. I would not have this added beneficial knowledge or career without having first completed my Workplace Trainer and Assessor qualification. Admittedly my 30 + years in and around the Industry has allowed me to hit the ground running in a training sense, but then anyone with knowledge and confidence can make a worthwhile contribution to their company with the minimum of effort. Naturally, your income opportunites expand along with your knowledge and that is always a good thing.

As an Investigator for DRMGROUP and an Investigation Trainer for Morrissey Group I am challenged to think precisely for the benefit of some very astute students who want to make a go of this career. Investigations training constantly re-inforces the requirements of this industry and it is an added bonus to find a star performer, whom I can then call on to assist me with my Investigation workload safe in the knowledge that I need not walk them through every what if situation. My company, and my client's benefit from the efforts of these highly motivated Investigators. My bottom line benefits, the student gains invaluable experience and on the job training while getting paid to learn the ropes with a safety net of the latest training knowledge and Industry techniques to guide them along.

Morrissey Training - Queensland's Premier RTO - offer the Trainer and Assessor training and qualification, in the Maryborough/Hervey Bay region the training is managed by yours truly whilst equally knowledgeable trainers handle the eastern seaboard from Brisbane to Mackay. If you are considering this qualification and would like to ask any questions then why not give me a call on (07) 41230795 or click here to contact me for a No Obligation consultation of your training or Investigation requirements.

WEBBER Third in Singapore Thriller

Australia's Mark Webber fought back from a difficult qualifying 5th on the grid, an early pit stop which saw him racing on slower 'hard' compound tyres and a coming together with Championship rival Lewi Hamilton which saw the latter retire from the race for the second Grand Prix in succession.

Webber actually increased his lead in the World driver's championship but all his main rivals, Hamilton excepted, also scored valuable points in the race for the Formula One Driver's title with team mate Sebastian Vettel chasing Alonso to the flag to finish on the podium in second place, Red Bull Renault have increased their Constructors championship lead as well and can be pretty happy with the turn of events.

Webber qualified poorly, by his standards this year at least, and was swamped by challengers in the early part of the race. Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso drove from Pole position into the lead at the first corner and showed in his usual flawless drive that he remains a major threat to Webber's title aspirations. Webber was forced to pit early in an attempt to make up ground later in the race, and it was this tactic that allowed him to finish on the podium. His drive was measured and determined and shows yet again that he has matured into a true World Championship contender. He held off a hard charging McLaren driven by reigning World Champion Jensen Button in the latter stages of the race as his tyres went away while Button's tyres were in better shape from a later pit stop strategy.

I think Webber can do it, I have said it for several years. His driving this year has been every inch a World Champion's consistency and pace and he will thoroughly deserve to lift the title. But he has the hounds snapping and snarling at his heels - in the form of Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton and Button, in what is turning into the most exciting and closely fought title chase in decades. I say it every year, and this year is no different, but the F1 championship exceeds expectations every season, year after year, in the quality of the racing, the drama and the talent behind the steering wheel. I can't recall a time - in the 30 plus years I have been following F1 when so many talented driver's stood to win the title. I can't recall when there were so many greats vying with each other, although the Lauda, Prost, Mansell, Senna, Piquet & Rosberg era of the 80's would probably be a worthy challenger for this mantle.

Go Mark, I am cheering you all the way, it seems odd to be holding my breath when my natural and lifelong support for McLaren gives way to relief when you manage to finish ahead of one or either.

Constantly Seeking New Opportunities???

I hope you are. I know I am. I was employed in a full time role that was grinding me down, I'll bet you know the feeling.

While I was working hard for someone else I decided to do something about that and began to explore the opportunities self employment presented, as a Private Investigator, a Commercial Agent and anything else that presented the right, positive attitude to allow me to continue to work for myself. I am a devotee of self improvement in all areas and I get a real charge from expanding my knowledge and opportunities in this area of my life.

For instance, since leaving the drudgery of paid employment, I am now firmly established as the major Security/Private Investigations Trainer in the Wide Bay Burnett Region, working as I do in conjunction with the Premier RTO - Morrissey Group - which in turn has had a flow on effect with business leads and contact with other business owners with whom I can network and build inspirational and positive relationships that benefit both of us.

I have established my Private Investigation business in the region which has become a leading provider of Investigation services from Gympie in the south to Rockhampton in the north and all points west.

Self employment has proven to be hugley educational and uplifting in areas I never thought possible. I am now dealing with people on a professional and social level that before I was subservient to as an employee. I have others asking me for advice that previously would never have considered doing so and it has been very rewarding to be able to help where in previous times it was not even an option.

Yes I am working hard, but I am working for myself and gain far more than a wage from the hours I put in.

I recently explored a new opportunity - well not so new really - but a long established business that has moved with the times and the 21st Century into Internet marketing and On Line sales. This explosive growth area of retailing will see the DRM GROUP establish itself in this area as a leading marketer of top quality products available to you online and delivered to your door overnight. World leading brands that sell themselves and inspire others to get involved in this area of retailing without the overheads, it is an  exciting time for DRM GROUP and I am yet again inspired and further charged with adrenalin to succeed. You can do it too you know. You are only limited by your own thoughts, the business I am talking about is available to you for next to no cost, there are no overheads and is entirely homebased with no need to purchase inventory or deliver to your client base. I can only see it as a win win for DRMGROUP.

This huge new opportunity, in concert with other initiatives I will discuss in the coming weeks leave me fully charged and on a knife edge of anticipation to succeed. I have acheived all of this from a standing start, having become sick of the daily grind working for a wage. I made the decision to go out alone and learn what it takes to make a go of it in my own business. I am only too happy to share my new found knowledge if you want to call and ask, feel free to do so, no obligations.

You cannot expect to change unless you make a decision and act on it. If you want to stay where you are now just keep doing what you are doing, I'm more than happy to step in and take the opportunity to continue learning and building my own success. But I am also more than happy to share my knowledge with you if you want to join in and come along for the ride, simply give me a call and I will fill you in on the secret...

Infidelity, Insecurity and Private Investigations

It's a strange old world this one we inhabit. I started out dreading having to conduct infidelity Investigations, you know the sort...husband has been away a lot on business lately and hardly talks anymore, the wife is whispering into the phone and hangs up when you appear suddenly. Late at the office, unexplained spur of the moment absences. Something is going on and you have no idea what. He's up to something, she's hiding something and you don't have a clue where to turn.

That's where I can help. It may not be the result you wanted to hear but it may at least confirm your fears, or as often happens too, confirm that nothing is actually happening.

However, you cannot ignore the tell tale signs, if there's smoke, then usually there is fire.

Lately DRMGROUP Investigators have been contracted to conduct covert surveillance in a number of situations that have rekindled my fascination for the work. I have seen the bad side of people too often, but in recent times a couple of Investigations have confirmed that the partner of our client is not misbehaving, they are not having an extra marital affair, they are in fact doing exactly what they say they are doing.

Now I'm not going to give away any trade secrets and tell you how we confirm such matters, but it has been a wonderful thing to be able to tell a client that their husband has not been seeing another woman, or man, as was the case with one recent Investigation my group completed.

Infidelity has stepped up in the number of jobs we have been asked to handle recently, I have no explanation why this occurs but it does seem to be cyclical in nature. Wives feeling trapped in a loveless marriage, left at home running the house hold and caring for the children who rarely get to see their father because he is always "working late". Well recently, in four of the past 6 cases we have worked on, that has been precisely what has been happening.

We have located missing people with great success, not always the case in this area as people who do not want to be found make life difficult for people on their trail. But again, of late, DRM GROUP has acheived very pleasing results in this aspect of the Investigations world as well.

Hervey Bay and Maryborough, all the way up to Bundaberg and even Rockhampton, if we don't have an employee who can take the case on then we will tap into the network of Investigators who have helped us in the past and helped us acheive such great results for the clients involved.

We recently cracked a missing person's case and an Infidelity matter - unfortunately  for the client, this one turned out poorly for her - down on the Sunshine Coast.

Covert surveillance generally garners the best evidence for the matter at hand, the use of covert camera's and good old fashioned leg work, soupled with years of experience is working these issues, has allowed us to acheive results I am proud to put my name to, and for that I have a team of dedicated and hard working agents to put on the cases we have contracted for.

If you have any concerns relating to a possible Infidelity matter, would like some advice about a Security issue at home or the office and would like confirmation one way or the other of yur suspicions, then I can confidently state that DRM GROUP can acheive a result for you.

Call and discuss any issue you may have, I am happy to consult with you free of charge and if I think there is nothing to be concerned about, then I stand up and tell you that, I will not take your money under false pretences. I stand behind each and every one of my team, they must meet the demanding standards I demand of them and they do so with great professionalism and integrity.

I am but a phone call away, or simply click here to leave your details on my contact page.

Training Available in Maryborough

DRMGROUP in association with Morrissey Training now offer several courses in the Hervey Bay/Maryborough and outlying regions.

Although based around Security work, there is still enough to keep you interested and improving your employability. For instance the short one day RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) will set you up for a job in Hospitality.

Drug & Alcohol Screening is more specialised but it is a required function of Security at the mine sites around the country.

Morrissey Training is now able to offer specialised and highly valued Dog Training, either for Security or for general ownership. Utilising the skills of a veteran Dog Handler and trainer we can get you to the required level to take a Dog out on patrol with you if you so desired.

First Aid is of course something we should all be thinking of training in but only about 20% of the population bother. A short course with us will have you primed to help in such circumstances and add's to your employability.

For those already in the Security Industry we offer Baton and Handcuff training in a comprehensive 1 Day format. This allows you to carry either or both while working alone, but not in a Nite club setting.

Those considering employment on Mine sites will need to complete the Generic Mine Induction (Surface) before applying ofr work and the Drug and Alcohol Screening we offer will put you at the front of the queue.

So if you are looking for training to get into the workforce, check the Morrissey Training web site or simply call me to discuss what we can qualify  you in.

I look forward to speaking to you

Back on Track...Investigations and Training...

DRM GROUP is back on track and posting information after a very busy few months dedicated to Security  training and more importantly, for this enterprise, Investigations.

There was a deep lull in the Investigation work, you may have picked up on that if you read some of my earlier blogs, but things now seem to have returned to somewhere near normal.

Investigation work has increased markedly in private surveillance but has still to return to the levels of last year in the Insurance sector. Infidelity investigations have figured prominently in my case load of the past three months and is a constant source of amazement to me, but I enjoy the chase and providing what I feel is a superior service to my clients is an added enticement, after all I am in business for myself and I intend to remain that way, there is nothing like it.

DRM GROUP is fully resourced to address your Investigation requirements and we have a team of enthusiastic and dedicated Investigators to handle your enquiries, if you would like further information then
either call me or drop me an e-mail, there is a contact page on this site, look to the header on this page for directions.

I look forward to speaking with you
