I received a quite amazing phone call yesterday morning from a bloke calling himself Zac and purporting to represent the company - amazingwebmall.com - from whom I had purchased a web site recently.
Now I have been very active in this arena over the past two weeks as I continue my search for income making opportunites and other personal development matters so I asked him to explain which site he was refering to. Zac, being the over worked individual that he is, immediately took a defensive stance and demanded to know how many web sites I had signed up to in the past few days?
Now apart from that being no business of his, and apart from the fact that he is a paid employee with a mission to win sales not ostracise clients with arguement and vitriol, Zac then entered into a heated argument with me over his more important reason for breathing than mine. I hung up on him. I did not solicit the call nor do I ordinarily accept calls from unlisted numbers - this being an exception for reasons I cannot explain.
This pleb had engaged me in an unsavoury argument within 15 seconds of my answering the call. He called me back and began to berate me about my bad form for hanging up on him and so on. I told him I did not wish to speak to him that I was busy and for him to call back later. He then sneeringly informed me that he has thousand's of other people to call and that he needed to confirm a convenient time as he was my Case Manager. Well at least he thought he was.
I did not take to the suggestion that I was only 1 of thousand's that he had to deal with and rang off.
Can you see from my description of the above conversation why I will have nothing to do with Zac or amazingwebmall.com ever again?
He called again this morning and I quickly, politely, informed him that I did not wish to deal with him, at which he told me "I don't want to deal with the likes of you either, so I am deactivating your account". I asked to speak to his supervisor and he demanded to know why, when I told him that I didn't like his attitude he launched into another attack on his "customer". I again asked to speak with his supervisor and he refused, instead hanging up on me.
Isn't that wonderful. Zac, I am working on speaking to your supervisor anyway so it might pay to start looking in the job's vacant columns of the local newspaper, I'm sure someone will read them to you.
So, amazingwebmall.com, thank you for allowing me to see the calibre of your staff and to deactivate my account before something really upsetting got in the way of Zac's day. I will not return to your portal with my money again so that is another unexpected bonus from my time talking with Zac. He also demonstrated the worst sales management technique I can imagine and to be free of any involvement with that I also thank you amazingwebmall.com.
I invite you to post some idea's about your sales techniques. Hopefully they are diametrically oppossed to our overworked, ungrateful hero of this tale, Zac.
I doesn't take much to Think long and Proser, but it is a task beyong my former Case Manager I fear.
Dan
